At 10 a.m. on Oct. 3, hundreds of Washingtonians poured into the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle. They were there not to attend just any Sunday mass, but a special service geared toward the most powerful people in the country. As the ceremony began, Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl personally welcomed Chief Justice John Roberts and Vice President Joe Biden by name.
